During this period, it is in the vines that the efforts are concentrated. Thanks to the massale's selection, selected on the already planted parcels of «lieu-dit Clavin»the majority of our old vines (of today) are planted. Bottling began toward the end of the 60's, at this time, Maxime DAUMEN renovates the cellar and buys new \"foudres\". From years to years and father to son, the estate grow up. It's in 1990 that Jean Paul DAUMEN joined the domaine and continue the traditions. Convinced that what is essentiel is the vine and the soil, he decides to choose an ecological culture, translated by the limitation of the treatments on the vines, the abandonment of fertilizer and chemicals products... The climatic conditions, the sunning, the atmospheric pressures, the effects of the moon and the planets, are as many parameters that seems obvious to him to take in consideration, in leaving, of course, \"the time to the time\". Today, the wines of Vieille Julienne are produced on about 10 hectares on the most northern part of the appellation Châteauneuf du Pape and 5 hectares of Côtes du Rhône on the «lieu-dit Clavin»\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e“Les Petites Parcelles” translates to “the small plots,” referencing a selection of specific vineyard parcels within the estate, often on slightly less exposed sites or from younger vines within the Châteauneuf du Pape appellation. These plots benefit from the same biodynamic farming practices as the domaine’s grander cuvées—no synthetic chemicals, careful canopy management, and an emphasis on soil health. The terroir consists of sandy and clay-limestone soils with excellent drainage and good water retention. These conditions allow the vines to develop deep roots and produce concentrated grapes with natural balance. Yields are deliberately kept low, and all harvesting is done by hand, with strict sorting to ensure only the best fruit is used.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch2 class=\"title\"\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/h2\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eGrapes are sorted meticulously and fermented with indigenous yeasts in concrete vats. Depending on the vintage, some whole bunches may be included to enhance aromatic complexity and texture. Extraction is gentle to preserve freshness and finesse. After fermentation, the wine is aged in large neutral oak foudres or concrete tanks for around 12–18 months. The goal is to allow the wine to evolve slowly while avoiding overt oak influence. In the glass, it shows a deep ruby colour with garnet reflections. Subtle floral hints—lavender and violets—add finesse to its powerful core.
