Pinot Noir ‘Reserve’ Cape Chamonix 2018
Cape Chamonix, Franschhoek
Since joining Cape Chamonix in 2001, winemaker Gottfried Mocke has transformed this 50ha estate’s wines, following the principal that great wines begin at the vine. With some of the highest altitude vineyards in the Franschhoek Valley planted predominantly on greywacke soils, Goffried favours low yields, traditional viticultural practices and wild ferments to produce these pure and unique expressions of the terroir, which are some of the very best examples from the region.
The ruby red Pinot Noir ‘Reserve’ Cape Chamonix 2015 is brimming with cherries, wild strawberries, crushed black pepper, cinnamon and violets. Opulent with firm tannins, it has superb length.
Grape: 100% Pinot Noir
