Domaine Coffinet-Duvernay

In 1989, Laura and Philippe Duvernay, Bastien's parents, took over the Fernand Coffinet estate and created the Coffinet-Duvernay estate. After studying at the Beaune Wine School, Bastien joined them in 2012. The 6.5 hectares of the estate exclusively based in Chassagne-Montrachet are managed in a reasoned way.

The wines of the Coffinet-Duvernay estate are vinified in a very traditional way, but with a "modern" concentration. Wonderfully generous, fresh, lively wines with great aging potential. The key word of the domain is to intervene as little as possible and to let the wine be made, this is how the malolactic fermentation is not prevented, and brings its richness and its opulence to this wine.

The estate is made up of red and white villages, 8 white premier crus and a Bâtard-Montrachet grand cru

Although this appellation is a "simple" Chassagne-Montrachet village, the grapes of this vineyard come from a parcel located just at the end of the emblematic "Criots-Batard". As you can see, the terroir of this village appellation is exceptional. The vines planted here are old, with an average age of between 60 and 70 years.  The yields are low, between 30 and 40 hl/ha against the 57 authorised.

The estate produced 2640 bottles and 37 magnums in the 2021 vintage of this nugget.

With lovely aromas of mandarins and limes, the palate is full, intense and textured, with flavours of buttered toast. A wine with great aging potential.
