Pouilly-Loché Reserve 1er, Domaine Tripoz 2022

Domaine Céline and Laurent Tripoz, Macon

Céline and Laurent Tripoz founded their estate in 1986 by acquiring small parcels of vines around the village of Loché in the Maconnais. They began by contributing to the local coop, but quickly decided that they could produce higher quality wines themselves, and the first vintage was released in 1990. Today there are 11.5 hectares of vines all farmed biodynamically since the late 1990's. Yields are low, only natural yeasts are used and the addition of sulphur is kept to a minimum. Their Cremant is 100% Chardonnay and spends 27 months on the lees before disgorgement. The result is a full and ripe sparkling wine packed with tropical fruit notes.

Beautiful, discreetly milky richness, reminiscent of ripe stone fruit and summer honey, balanced by a sparkling freshness. A small part of the maturation is done in new barrels, which adds a dose of complexity.
