Standing in the heart of Gevrey Chambertin, this estate has passed from father to son for generations, yet the winemaking is now carried out by Marc's only daughter Alexandrine. She’s had a huge impact on the domaine, having previously spent time in other classic Pinot growing regions, such as Oregon, and New zealand. Although Alexandrine has no Grand or 1er Crus, her village wines are of a particularly high quality, coming from very old vines (70 year old for the Vieilles Vignes)

• A 0.33 ha rock-laden parcel, with heavy clay
• 50+ year old vines
• De-stemmed
• Indigenous yeast
• Aged in barrel (50% new)

At once delicately sweet and quite earthy, this enticing Gevrey-Chambertain is easy to enjoy. A medium-bodied palate with plenty of cherry and ripe strawberry fruit on a base of supple tannins. So much going for it, yet it's a little simple in the moderately dry finish. Drink or hold.
