Based in Limoux since 1946, Les Caves de Sieur d'Arques  is the region's leading co-operative and the name most closely tied to its sparkling tradition. Best known for Blanquette and Crémant de Limoux, they've also developed a reputation for precise, Chardonnay-driven still wines that highlight the area's varied microclimates.

The Toques et Clochers Limoux Chardonnay (produced by Les Caves de Sieur d'Arques) is a highly regarded white wine from the Languedoc region. Praised by Jancis Robinson MW as a "Southern French Chardonnay with a northern accent," she found the 2024 vintage to be pale gold with a modest, reticent, intriguing nose, and noted it is not flashy but very well balanced.

Orchard fruit and citrus take the lead, with light oak ageing adding subtle weight and a touch of spice. The balance and finesse are more reminiscent of the Mâconnais than the Mediterranean.
