The Armagnac Les Carré des Fantômes is a single parcel field-blend bottling of Plant de Graisse, Mauzac Blanc, Meslier St François, Jurançon Blanc, Mauzac Rosé and Clairette de Gascogne, six nearly extinct varieties. It is an especially airy, floral and savory style of Armagnac, maybe a bit classically austere in profile, but also incredibly intriguing. Light in color, with slightly nutty, oxidative overtones, the Carré des Fantômes is an absolutely gorgeous spirit. It is a beautiful, eccentric Armagnac that requires an inquisitive palate to fully appreciate.
Le Carre des Fantomes, "The Square of Ghosts" is the name of the special plot where year after year, the 6 almost extinct grape varieties of the AOC Armagnac have been replanted. This is a very special Armagnac from a special piece of land that restores and celebrates the use of these ancient varietals. Truly unique and complex, expect notes of stewed stone fruits, honey, spices and linden tree blossom.
