Stéphane Bourret and his team have improved La Bastide wines’ quality beyond recognition. Despite the pressure of the many tourists ready to buy almost anything at any price, he has chosen a path of quality and hard work. Most of the estate is now run with bio-dynamic methods and the results are stupefying with most wines awarded great accolades in the national and international wine press. ‘Estagnol’ is produced from their best vineyards and improves after 3 or 4 years cellaring.
Precise aromatics are packed with fragrant raspberries, wild cherries and strawberries. Very refined and savoury on the palate with a medium body, fresh red fruits and a delightfully smooth, stony mineral zing.
Grapes: 62% Mourvèdre, 18% Cinsault, 16% Grenache and 4% Ugni Blanc and Bourboulenc grapes.
