Chateau Ponzac covers 28 hectares of vineyards in the Cahors appellation, with vines that are 25-years-old on average. They produce Malbec and Merlot. Matthieu and Virginia are assisted in the vineyard and the cellar by Pascal Verhaeghe of Château du Cèdre, one of the leading estates in the Cahors appellation. Pascale helps them finetune the vinification & ageing of their wines.
Its pure red color prepares for a nose of lightly stewed red fruit. On the palate, it is easy and fresh with notes of blackcurrant which ends in a slight note of violet.
