Rioja Tempranillo Hacienda Grimon 2022

Hacienda Grimon, Rioja 

Hacienda Grimon is run by the Olivans, a family with a long winemaking tradition in Rioja. Grimon was established by Paco Grimon, who runs the bodega, and his brother Eliseo, who takes care of the viticulture. Their 25 hectares of vineyards are based in the Valle de Jubera, a secluded and little known corner of Rioja Alta with a great viticultural history. Viticulture is organic; although not certified, there is no use of herbicides and pesticides, and sheep manure is used as fertilizer.

Nose of redcurrant, cherry and blueberry aromas with a touch of pepper. The palate is intense and juicy with flavours of creamy red fruits. Great acidity and a lingering finish makes this a great food wine. Great with lamb stew with sweet red peppers, pasta with a wild mushroom and red wine sauce or Madrid-style beef stew with veal, thyme and green peppers.
