Kyoko and Yoshi met in 1998 at a Japanese bank, where they were working. After 12 years of work at the bank in Tokyo and London, they moved to New Zealand in 2006, aiming eventually to make their own wines and both studied for graduate diploma in viticulture & oenology at Lincoln University in Christchurch. Immediately after graduation, they settled in Central Otago and started their winemaking careers.
La Ferme de Sato refers to the range of small-production wine from 3.2 ha of vineyards.
Sato Wines in Central Otago, New Zealand. The name translates to "Song of the Wind" inspired by the whistling sound of wind moving through the vineyard posts.
Matures for roughly 16 months without fining, filtering, or the addition of sulfur.
Rich yet mineral-driven, featuring notes of ripe nectarine, citrus peel, baked apple, honeyed spice, and a clean river-stone finish
