Domaine Patrick Javillier, Chassagne Montrachet.
Patrick Javillier has been making wine since 1974. He got his Diplôme National d'Œnologie in Dijon in 1973. He then continued with his military service for a year. The day after he was done with his military service he was back in Meursault vinifying the 1974 all on his own. His father had retired and left the three hectares of vines to his son.
Les Tillets: Located near the woods, facing south/southeast, these vines extend over the Meursault hillside. The nature of the soil is clayey, before finding a brown limestone soil on hard limestone. This wine comes from 6 nearby vines, in the same place. The age of these vines ranges from 30 to 70 years old
Les Tillets: 1,70 ha
The nose is expressive, marked by aromas of white flowers, yellow and white fruits, as well as slightly spicy notes. It’s a fairly complex nose, with a lot of elegance. The palate is round, with a beautiful liveliness and aromatic freshness, as well as minerality. It is a wine with great finesse and persistence on the palate, which does not hide a certain power. He is elegant and slender. Its style places it between a classic Meursault and a typical Puligny-Montrachet.
Grape: Chardonnay
