Gavi di Tassarolo “La Fornace”, Cinzia Bergaglio, DOCG 2016
From the Village of Tassorolo in Piedmont, Bergaglio's vineyard comprises of just 5 hectares growing only one grape, Cortese, the native grape variety of Allessandria, which thrives in the hills between Novi and Tortona in Piedmont close to Liguria. The grape is so successful in Gavi that it is known locally as Cortese di Gavi.
Straw-yellow in colour, this is a fresh and floral white with scents of white flowers and green fruit. On the palate, flavours of almonds and apple with a hint of green herbs. A dry and refreshing finish with hints of pear. Great sea bass or a seafood salad.
