Located in the historic center of Sanlúcar, right on the border that divides the Barrio Alto from the Bajo neighborhood of the city, "La Cigarrera" is a cellar for aging and expedition with a total area of 1,637 m². It consists of three aging sheds (Bodega de Colóm, Bodega de Cabral and Bodega de Sarnilla) that are distributed around a beautiful central Andalusian patio. Until 1998, the winery was exclusively dedicated to the store of wine, being from that year, after certain reforms operated in the Regulation of the Denomination of Origin, when the marketing of its own bottled wines begins, under the brand " The Cigarrera ". Protected by the Designations of Origin "Jerez-Xérès-Sherry" and "Manzanilla de Sanlúcar de Barrameda", "La Cigarrera" is a Crianza and Expedition winery where the traditional norms used during the process of aging and aging of its wines are applied strictly.
Coming from muscatel grapes that once harvested are exposed to the sun over esparto raisers (Pasil sunning system) to concentrate their sugar and achieve pasificación. Its fermentation is partial, since it is stopped by the addition of wine alcohol, thus retaining most of its original sweetness. Aging under oxidative aging, which determines its intense mahogany color and dense appearance. Serve between 12 and 14 º, although you can also serve cold to the tastes of the consumer.
Dark mahogany with shades of plums and dates. Sweet, silky and full on the palate. Perfect to accompany both dry snacks and any dessert, ice cream.
