Hodgkinson is a boutique family winery in Spain’s Priorat region. Founded in 1972, brothers Caspar, David, and Luca produce low-intervention, certified organic wines. Their flagship Garnacha-based wines, such as Mas del Habanero and Las Panzudas, are celebrated for expressing Priorat’s slate (licorella) soils and natural vibrancy.
Their vineyards are located in the Los Massos area, between Falset and Gratallops, at 450 meters above sea level.
The unique fine hairs on the underside of the grape leaves help the vine retain moisture during hot Priorat summers, resulting in an elegant, full-bodied wine. It is characterized by vibrant acidity, soft tannins, and a complex flavor profile of ripe red and black fruits, chocolate, liquorice, and the region's signature mineral slate (llicorella) notes.
Grape: 100% from the rare Garnacha Peluda (or "Hairy Grenache") grape.
