Edoardo Valentini was known locally as the “Lord of the Vines.” This resolute old-timer, when he was alive, always disregarded all modern conventions and wrapped his operations in a shroud of mystery, fervently guarding his production techniques from outsiders. Valentini’s wines always display a startlingly natural character, their individual quirks only enhancing their profound charm. It's for good reason that along with Emilio Pepe, his wines are some of the most revered and sought after wines in the world. 

Vinified through spontaneous fermentation in large oak barrels without temperature control or filtration, it is left to mature in the same barrels for 12 months, followed by another 1-2 years in the bottle. A deep cherry pink in color, the nose offers a refined array of aromas of
small red fruits, undergrowth, chestnut, and sweet spice. Fresh, beautifully structured, elegant, and minerally, it has an intense and persistent finish.
