Genesis Côt Domaine Bonnigal-Bodet 2024

Domaine Bonnigal-Bodet, 

Domaine Bonnigal-Bodet is Jean Baptiste Bonnigal and Stéphane Bodet, who jointly took over Bonnigal’s fourth-generation family domaine in Amboise together in 2015. They’ve got quite a few vineyard parcels, spanning a range of varieties and soil types. These include Chenin Blanc (this wine), Côt (Malbec), Sauvignon Blanc and Pineau d’Aunis. Farming is organic/biodynamic. Le Clocher is a plot on a south-facing clay-limestone terroir above the village of Limeray.

Genesis is a 100% Côt (Malbec) from Touraine-Amboise, harvested manually and sorted on a vibrating table. It undergoes whole-bunch carbonic maceration over nine days, followed by nine months of stainless-steel aging. 

Cassis and blackberry liqueur notes, with fresh, forward fruit and silky tannins, offering a vibrant expression of Malbec.
